Polyheterodyne Machinamentae (4.5 MB) - June 2006 (synthesizer performance)
orchestra
4'53"
June 2006

Polyheterodyne Machinamentae (aka PhdMm) was Ora's Master's thesis composition. It incorporates multiple micropolyphonic sound masses moving in canonic motion in three steps gradually from dodecaphony toward octaphony, including novel polyrhythmic effects throughout.

Peace (excerpt) (4.9 MB) - March 2005
solo piano
2'05"
January 2005

Peace focuses on the soft decaying sound of the piano. The work implies peace, by requiring little of the composer, performer, or audience, but to simply enjoy the piece/peace.

Thanks to Cheryl P. for your wonderful and creative performance!

Synaptic Wastes (excerpt) (7.7 MB) - January 2005
solo piano
3'13"
October 2003

A very slow meditative piano work that focuses on sustained single chords that are chromatically diverse and how the natural decay of the piano effects them. The work is also a metaphor for depression.

Thanks to Syvart D. for your wonderful performance!

Mode Thirteen (excerpt) (10 MB) - October 2003
flute and vibraphone
4'16"
October 2000 (edited in October 2003)

Ora's second undergraduate work. A unique style all its own was quickly born.

Thanks to David M. and Alina F. for your wonderful performances!
